Welcome to the new blog!
Welcome to our new blog - Thoughts from the Southside!
Particularly with former U.S. President Donald Trump involved in multiple criminal and civil trials at the same time that the current U.S. president's son has been convicted on gun charges, things are moving at a quick pace in the nation right now. As such, we have had several thoughts that we have wanted to get into print, but doing so on our previous outlet was time-consuming.
Even though it's free and has a link at the bottom, we appreciate the ease and speed of Blogger, so we moved back here.
We say "back here" as we had, years ago, used Blogger for posting our thoughts. During the Clinton and Bush "Junior" administrations, we had posted primarily on events in Washington, D.C. This evolution of our blog will be a little different as we will be focusing on a variety of topics. As this is a blog and not part of our news gathering and dissemination, we do use this for our opinion pieces and will provide our conservative and constitutional "slant" in our writings.
Don't be surprised if you see a lot of "First Amendment" postings here as this is the cornerstone of a free society. Every day, either through desire or true ignorance, government employees violate the Constitutional Rights of the People. The problem with this is that the People either do not know their rights, don't fully understand them, or think that it is too much of a hassle to fight for their rights.
As this blog is a supplement to our news writing, it is supported through those articles that we get published. On average, we earn about $0.003 for each "read" of our articles. Not a lot individually, each time you read one of our articles, you are contributing to helping keep Southside Matt going. So, please check out our articles here. It costs you nothing but time, and helps us greatly.
Please also feel free to comment on any of our posts or articles. When you do this, you will help us make ourselves better by sharing your thoughts. We only ask that you keep things "clean" and cordial. Comments that we consider improper will be deleted with continued improper comments possibly causing you to be blocked. Any threats of physical harm will be reported to law enforcement immediately.
We appreciate your visiting our blog and look forward to sharing our thoughts with you!
